Resurgence of the pharmaceutical industry to its preeminence can only be realized through Collaborative Innovation in Biomedicine. Given the complexities and the expense of pharmaceutical R&D, we can accomplish much more, in a shorter time and with less cost and duplication of effort, when the private and public sectors bring their special strengths to bear. These are challenging times, but they also offer unprecedented opportunities to form complementary and synergistic partnerships and collaborative research enterprises with an overarching goal of advancing drug discovery breakthroughs and bridge the translational gap. The focus of the conference is to:

showcase cutting edge research-tools, technologies, and chemical biology
gain perspectives on the benefits and potential issues surrounding collaborative innovation between the public and private sectors
- learn how academia and disease foundations are becoming the driving force behind innovation
- understand how non-profits, including patient-based organizations, could play as catalysts in meeting the needs of patients and caregivers
explore government initiatives that help foster cooperation between industry and academia
assess patient advocacy and population health management initiatives towards affordable and quality healthcare

The conference aims to bring together thought leaders and senior executives from pharma, academia, NIH, diseases foundations and patient advocacy groups to critically assess current operational models, and engage in panel discussions spanning a broad range of scientific and business initiatives.
